We are thrilled to be able to offer a wide variety of custom options for our Calyx baby carrier. Because our products are made locally, we are able to to have a flexible relationship with the production team. That means you can choose whatever fabrics you want, even sending your special choices to us, and we can run them right over to the shop. The turn-around time is quick, 4-6 weeks from the time we finalize fabric choices or receive your fabrics. Our sewing work is done in the USA, by an owner-operated family business with over 50 years of combined experience in industrial sewing. We feel very privileged to work with them to deliver products with a high standard of quality.
For families looking for something truly special, we can create a one of a kind artwork panel for your Calyx. MBD began as a one-woman business, designing and producing Mei Tais, traditional Chinese carriers lovingly created by mothers and grandmothers, with embroidered designs rich with symbolic meaning and painstaking detail. MBD baby carriers have evolved away from the original design, but stay faithful to the tradtional esthetic with artwork created to have special meaning to the family who will use it.
